Located at the heart of the Richelieu River in the Montérégie region near Saint-Paul-de-l’Île-aux-Noix, you will find a fort with many secrets. The Fort Lennox National Historic Site, completed in 1892, is the ideal place to travel back in time to fully understand the day-to-day lives of 19th century soldiers. All kids love to ride the ferry to the island. The guided circuit and miscellaneous activities will amaze them. On August 18 and 19, thead out and discover Fab Forts!

Did you know that a naval shipyard was operated on the Île aux Noix in the 19th century? The Fab Forts event is based on this historical fact and will delight families. Those occupying Fort Lennox will gladly accept help to defend the fort!

The activities are based on the day-to-day lives of the former occupants of Fort Lennox. Young and old will have to find, among other things, objects banned from the barracks or load a cannon according to the orders of the artilleryman. Other surprises are also planned. To fully enjoy your day at Île aux Noix, you must plan to spend about four hours. You can complete the mission in the order you choose, no matter what time you arrive.
Enjoy It All Summer
Guided tours of the Fort Lennox National Historic Site are offered several times a day, every day, all summer long. Your guide will lead you to all the fort’s buildings and will share stories about the location. Île aux Noix is also a great place to picnic and walk around its paths.
