Parc de la Chute-Montmorency
 |
Just a few minutes away from downtown Québec City is a natural historical site that you will never get tired of visiting. The Parc de la Chute-Montmorency will charm you with an unrestricted view of the St. Lawrence River, the Île d’Orléans, and the city of Québec. You will also be impressed by the spectacular Montmorency Falls. Eighty-three metres high, it is more beautiful than ever thanks to the lighting from the Parc.
Must do's
You can explore the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency in a variety of ways. Of course, there is the cable car that promises you an outstanding panoramic experience. Then there are hiking trails as well as suspension bridges that will let you appreciate the beauty of the area, the falls, as well as the vestiges of the past.
A new guided tour will let you meet Mathilde Robin, who embodies the legend of the Dame Blanche, and Sir Frederick Haldimand who was the third governor of the province of Quebec. This trail starts in front of the Manoir Montmorency and goes past the suspension bridge to end at the top of 487 steps, from where you can go to the visitor centre at the foot of the falls or return to the Manoir. It's a rendezvous every weekend until September 3.
See the beauties of the past
The 16th Gala d’Élégance of antique cars will be back on June 30 and July 1. The stars will be cars from the years prior to 1987. You can even buy one! On the site of the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, you will find several booths and dealers in antiques and other collectibles.
