Space for life – Biodôme

The Montréal Biodôme, unquestionably a choice family destination, is a natural oasis at the heart of the city. Since its opening in 1992, the Biodôme or the “house of life” has welcomed nearly 15 million amazed visitors to the site, based on a unique concept. With surprising realism, thousands of plants and animals, rocks, water and different climates come together to recreate four of America’s most beautiful ecosystems: tropical and Laurentian forests, St. Lawrence marine and the world of both the Arctic and Antarctic poles. The Biodôme’s ecosystems have been put together in such a fashion so that they may be visited independently: interpretation panels are found all along the trail and guides are available to answer visitors' questions.
