Since 2003, the Cité de l'énergie, in cooperation with the National Gallery of Canada, has been presenting an international exhibition of modern and contemporary art every summer at Shawinigan Space. The exhibition features great artists’ works from museums and private collections worldwide. This year, from June 19 to September 26, 2010, Shawinigan Space will present the world premiere of the exhibition ecH20. The artist, Richard Purdy, proposes a reflection on the complex and multiform nature of the element H20 on our planet and in our cultures. As an echo is the reflection of sound, Purdy offers us a visual reflection on water through four monumental, surprising installations. The exhibition is presented at a unique site, the oldest aluminum fabrication installation still existing in North America.
