The Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, located in western Quebec, exudes abundance. Lovers of unspoiled nature will be enchanted by its vast forests and innumerable lakes, rivers and streams. Two routes are proposed for exploration of the region: the Route des prospecteurs et des défricheurs (Prospectors' and Clearers' Tour) and the Route des pionniers (Pioneers’ Tour). This territory is a paradise for hunting and fishing, thanks to its many outfitters. Outdoor activities abound: hiking, camping, sea kayaking, ice skating, skiing, snowmobiling and more… The Parc national d’Aiguebelle, housing a rich and wild heritage, proposes many discoveries for adventurers. You can even observe northern lights! Abitibi-Témiscamingue also rhymes with the possibility to go 91 meters (300 feet) underground to see the Cité de l’Or (City of Gold), or to meet the man who speaks with wolves at the Refuge Pageau, or even to relive fur trade history at Fort-Témiscamingue!
