Festivities are kicking off with a disco night in the company of a mythical group from the 1970s, KC and the Sunshine Band. You surely remember “Shake Your Booty,” “That’s the Way I Like It” and “Get Down Tonight”! Feeling an itch in your feet to get dancing? Come on, put on your “Boogie Shoes” and head out for this celebration!
It’s so exciting; Simple Plan will take the spotlight on Saturday, September 1. Yea for the five members of this Canadian pop-punk group who are coming to celebrate the 25th Hot Air Balloon Festival!
As far as music goes, you will also be treated to Isabelle Boulay on September 2. To close the festival on September 3, enjoy some rock with our favourite bum, the one and only Éric Lapointe, accompanied by Hugo Lapointe and Michel Pagliaro.
A First in North America; Relive the First Hot Air Balloon Flight
Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau
 |
Fascinating! The first flight of a hot air balloon dates back to June 4, 1783. The festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary by staging this historic moment. You will get a chance to see a re-enactment of the flight of the first paper hot air balloon made by the famous Montgolfier brothers. Imagine; this exclusive event in North America will be held in the company of Roland de Montgolfier, proud descendant of the 7th generation of Joseph and Étienne de Montgolfier.
Don’t forget, from August 31 to September 3, hit the road to Gatineau, Outaouais for the event of the summer: the 25th edition of the Hot Air Balloon Festival. It promises to be historic… and hysterical!
