From August 21 to 26, the province’s capital will be filled with music during the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands! You will have a great time with your family or friends, especially by taking part in diverse activities and concerts, most of which are free. Or, if you wish to experience something awe-inspiring, the Québec City Military Tattoo and the International Grand Concert will amaze you with hundreds of musicians taking the stage. March on over!
Six Participating Countries, Six Days of Festivities
For its 14th edition, the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands is inviting musicians and artists from six countries. For the first time, Austria will join in the celebration and perform its Tyrol Military Music for festival goers. Germany, Chile, the United States, France and, of course, Canada will also take part in the festivities with indoor and outdoor performances.

Earnest military music fans, as well as naturally curious people will enjoy the festival’s indoor concerts. The International Grand Concert “Celebrating 150 years of history of the Voltigeurs de Québec” gathers 200 musicians from Canada and participating countries, including twenty pipers. Many countries will celebrate the Voltigeurs de Québec’s 150 years of history by joining talents to create a unique and singularly powerful concert. This exceptional musical event will be held on August 22, starting at 8 p.m. at the Grand Théâtre de Québec.
The must-see Québec City Military Tattoo will impress the audience. A total of 700 musicians, dancers and singers will come together to create a grandiose, large-scale show. The Tattoo will perform from August 23 to 25 at the Colisée Pepsi, at 7 p.m.
Experience the Festival Outdoors
The Festival features many free activities at Place George V, including two Armoury Concerts each night, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. On August 21, the Welcoming Ceremony will kick off the Festival. Children will have lots of fun at the family day on August 26. Also, do not miss the Festival Parade that will bring the Grande Allée to life in Québec onAugust 25.
