Festival Couleurs du monde
From June 28 to July 1, 2012 travel to Sainte-Marie de Beauce to immerse yourself in traditional music and dance. The programming of the Festival Couleurs du monde (colours of the world festival) is full of activities, workshops and shows featuring folk dances from here and away. Only 20 minutes from the bridges of Québec City, the town of Sainte-Marie will be at its finest to welcome you to a brand-new coloured space.

A highly colored program

You will travel around the world simply by stopping in Sainte-Marie during the Festival Couleurs du monde. On Saturday night alone, you will be transported under the warm colors of New Zealand. The Whitireia Performing Arts will present a typical Maori dance from this wonderful corner of the country.

Then you will take the road for Chile with the Fusión Folclórica Rayén. You will be plunged into a world where the costumes are as showy as the rhythm of their steps. Finally, you will be seduced by the more temperate colors of Poland. The White Eagle dancers will be on the boards to help you discover the wealth of Polish dance.

Place for new things

Rendez-vous bières et couleurs

Another new thing this year: the Rendez-vous bières et couleurs (beer and colours rendezvous) which will take place from Friday to Sunday. There you can taste artisanal beers brewed by six microbreweries. In addition, speaker Guy Lévesque will be on hand to talk with you.

Saturday, June 30 at 10 p.m., a floating stage on the Chaudière River will be the theatre for a show by the group CuréLabel. Get ready to dance to their wild rhythms.

Tales from here and there to make you dream

The Place du conte (story place) will be back in full force with Beauce storyteller Martin Savoie as well as Rodrigue Barbé from the Congo who delighted the crowd in 2010. Newcomers Marc-André Berthold and Maxim Plamondon will have some fascinating stories to tell you. See you in Sainte-Marie de Beauce!
