What would you say about entering a fantastic universe where outrageousness, special effects, and a prestigious Casavant organ combine to entertain you? That is what awaits you at Trois-Pistoles, in Basques country, in the heart of the Lower St. Lawrence. This region will surprise you with the wealth of its nature, its breathtaking scenery, its many festivals and events, and its WOW route. When evening falls, complete your discovery of the region with a stage play that you'll remember for a long time to come.

An evening unlike any other

From July 7 to August 18, go to the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges church in Trois-Pistoles to see La guerre des clochers by Victor-Lévy Beaulieu. Your evening will start with a recital on the large Casavant organ accompanied by religious songs from the 19th century. At the end of the recital, the play La guerre des clochers will start.

On stage, the parishioners argue until the parish priest tells them to go quarrel in the old deconsecrated church. That is when the audience is invited to join in the play by following the troupe outside to the Caveau-Théâtre to hear the rest of the story. This colourful event is presented from Tuesday to Saturday at 8 p.m.

Enter into the heart of a legend

The play La maison hantée by Mathieu Barrette

Trois-Pistoles was a maritime city, and its legends reflect this. The play La maison hantée by Mathieu Barrette relates the life of the pilots who accompanied foreign sailors on the St. Lawrence River to Québec City. While waiting for their next voyage, they stayed at the Auberge de la Pointe à la Loupe. The inn's owner appreciated the visit of the sailors in transit, and some of them succumbed to her charms.

One day, a quarrel between two travelers ended with one of them dying. That was when the inn started to be haunted. The play is full of magnificent poetry as well as funny and tragic anecdotes. The Forge à Bérubé will host this play from July 10 to August 16, from Tuesday to Thursday, at 8:30 p.m.
