Festival de films de Portneuf sur l’environnement
The Festival de films de Portneuf sur l'environnement (FFPE or the Portneuf film festival on the environment) is the first francophone film festival on the environment in North America. This international event highlights Earth Day in a special way. FFPE takes place in the heart of the village of Saint-Casimir, halfway between Québec and Trois-Rivières. Most of the activities are held at Ciné-centre culturel Alain-Grandbois, city hall and Auberge du Couvent, which accommodates the festival's restaurant and proposes regional specialties. The festival’s activities, mostly free, appeal to people of all ages, seventh art aficionados and the environmentally concerned. Cinema creations, competitive film screenings, gala open to the public, conferences, debates, Kabaret Kino and school workshops. FFPE has developed thanks to several artists and volunteers: Jacques Languirand, Geneviève Bilodeau, Christian Bégin, Frédéric Back, Fred Pellerin, Richard Desjardins, Jean Lemire and many others.
