Since 1999, the Festival Saint-Zénon-de-Piopolis
, held in the Eastern Townships, has been featuring an annual series of concerts, from classical to world music, not to mention jazz. Five concerts are given in the summer season, from May to September, with a Christmas concert closing the season. Thanks to a team of volunteers, the Festival is able to put renowned musicians on stage at reasonable rates. Also, it’s free for children 12 years old and under accompanied by their parents. The 2013 season will be featuring Patrick Norman (May 25), Anne-Marie Dubois and Wonny Song presenting a piano four hands “Parlez-moi d’amour” (June 30), Marc Hervieux presenting “Annapoli” (July 13), Oliver Jones presenting “Jass encore” (August 17), Isabelle Longnus (August 31) and a Christmas concert with the Ensemble Gospel de Québec (December 7).
