From January 27 to February 12, the Québec Winter Carnival, in association with Loto-Québec, will be transforming the city of Québec into an immense playground. Its exciting, colourful program will satisfy the whole family. Participating in the 58th edition of the Québec Winter Carnival is about savouring winter delights in a thousand and one ways. Novelties and Bonhomme await!
Make Way for Celebration, Day and Night!
This year, the Ice Palace sits majestically inside the Zone Loto-Québec on the Plains of Abraham. Bonhomme will welcome you for a photo shoot every Saturday and Sunday during the Carnival. In addition to musical entertainment, many attractions will delight all, including the impressive Ferris wheel and the magical Mr. Christie/KRAFT Village.
On Fridays and Saturdays, at the Loto-Québec Outdoor Dance Parties, DJs will get you dancing at the brand new igloo-shaped discotheque overlooking Bonhomme’s Ice Palace.
The classic night parades are back again this year. Before your very eyes, you will see floats accompanied by over 800 entertainers, dance troupes and marching bands. These impressive and colourful parades will be held on February 4 and 11. Make sure to visit the carnival’s website, where you will find the parades’ scheduled routes.
Races and Winter Contests

Experience the thrill of watching many winter races. On Saturday, January 28, beginning at 1:30 p.m., the dog sledding race will give you quite the sight to see. You may also be tempted by St-Hubert Derby, a championship of horse teams that will bring together competitors from seven countries. And of course the classic ice canoe race will be back.
The must-see TELUS International Snow Sculpture contest will surely astonish you. These works of remarkable beauty will be showcased at several locations. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite.
