A Sure Way to Fall Back Into Childhood!

Lyne at the Passe-Partout exhibition
I was delighted when I heard that this winter the Pulperie de Chicoutimi would be holding the touching exhibition on Passe-Partout, a Quebec children’s television programme that aired in the 70s and 80s. I took my children to see this original exhibition a few years ago at the Musée québécois de culture populaire in Trois-Rivières, and we were all impressed. I have no qualms about encouraging you to go see this exhibition, for the first time or again, even if it’s only to introduce your children to characters from our childhood and tear through that piece of paper yet another time!

"Où sont mes amis, ils sont ici, ils sont ici!"

I was convinced that the exhibition Passe-Partout, produced by the Musée québécois de culture populaire in Trois-Rivières, would be a massive success and reach out beyond the city of Trois-Rivières. After showing all summer at the Site historique de l’Île-des-Moulins, the exhibition has made its way to the Pulperie de Chicoutimi and will be charming visitors until April 1, 2012. If you haven’t yet had a chance to visit this lovely exhibition, this is your chance to do so. And why not also enjoy the occasion to visit the welcoming region of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean?

Marie-Pier and Nicholas at the Passe-Partout exhibition

It was with some sentiment that I took my children to see the Passe-Partout exhibition in Trois-Rivières a few years ago. What joy I felt finding childhood friends and introducing them to my children. The exhibition is so well put together that you feel like you are entering right into the heart of the show. In addition to original character costumes for Passe-Partout, Passe-Carreau and Passe-Montagne, you can also see elements from the set’s décor and accessories from the show. I also enjoyed seeing excerpts of some shows, and my children had a great time with fun, interactive games that introduced them to Cannelle, Pruneau and Alakazou.

History of Pulp!

And make the most of your visit to the Pulperie de Chicoutimi by touring the sites and reliving the history of the Compagnie de pulpe, which played a key role in the region’s development at the beginning of the last century. Also see the home of painter Arthur Villeneuve, recognised as an object of historic and cultural significance for heritage in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.
