The Eastern Townships has everything needed to satisfy cycling buffs. Whether it’s on cycling trails that cover a distance of 2,000 km (1,243 mi) or a route with breathtaking panoramas, everyone will find a “roadway to suit their calves!” The Eastern Townships region guarantees most memorable biking excursions for both hardcore and recreational cyclists.

Services to Make Your Life Easier

To help you choose your circuit, Tourism Eastern Townships publishes a biking map, available at the region’s tourist information centres. The website also has a wide array of services, including downloadable road circuit maps.

If you happen to get too tired to continue on, break down or don’t want to backtrack, the bike taxi service can help! It is offered on roads and bike trails, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply call 1-877-766-VELO (8376).

You don’t have a bike or don’t want to bring it along? No worries, the Townships has thought of everything! Several places along the Véloroute des Cantons offer rentals. Additionally, some people will be happy to hear that it is even possible to rent electric bikes in the region. Now even more reasons to pedal in the Townships!

Finally, different parking lots are found in strategic locations so you can park your car near the bike trail of your choice.

Choose from a wide array of packages that combine biking and cosy accommodations, well deserved after a day of pedaling. Also, many establishments in the region are certified “Bienvenue cyclistes!” as they provide a welcome and services adapted to the needs of cycling tourists.

For your outing, don’t hesitate including little pleasures, such as discovery of terroir products, exploration of the Townships Trail (signposted Chemin des Cantons), the Wine Route (signposted Route des vins) and art circuits, among others.

And since pedalling works up an appetite, stop in one of the ten Cafés de village, welcoming places that put on hearty tables of tasty local products.
