Plains of Abraham
 |
When the Plains of Abraham in Québec are covered with a thick white coat, they welcome you to come outside and play! Treat yourself to a nice outing with that special someone, your family or friends, or wind down trails on cross-country skis, snowshoes or on foot. To add a little spice to your outing, the National Battlefields Commission invites you to go on a trip through time accompanied by a guide from the 20th century. This is a great chance to fill up on fresh air while enjoying an exceptional site.
A Guided Old-Time Tour
Under the stars by torchlight, snowshoes strapped on your feet, arrow sash around your waist, you can meet Amédée Fournier or his wife by participating in the Snowshoer’s Walk. You will go back in time to find yourself in 1914. Wearing a period tunic, your guide will tell you about the history of sports in the 20th century while describing winter activities once enjoyed on the Plains.
This outing, which lasts about an hour and 45 minutes, will surely spark your imagination. For a small fee, traditional wood snowshoes, arrow sash, lanterns and hot chocolate are included. Advance reservations are required to participate in this activity.
