Le Saint-Pierre Distinctive Inn
 |
All year round, Old Québec is magnificent, but during the holidays, it is quite simply romantic! One of my favourite places, Le Saint-Pierre Distinctive Inn, located in the Lower Town, is an intimate inn with 41 uniquely charming rooms, with brick walls and wood floors. During my last stay, I enjoyed the company of my sweetheart walking through Quartier Petit Champlain and Place Royale, which are located right near the inn.
Intimacy, Charm and Warmth
Le Saint-Pierre inn is definitely among my most prized discoveries. I have been there several times and my stays have always been perfect. I truly enjoy this small hotel, for several reasons. First, for its charming rooms, elegant like at a large hotels but cozy like a charming inn in Old Québec, with brick walls, wood floors, down blankets, not to mention an LCD flat-screen television, bathrobe and whirlpool bath. I fell in love with one of their magnificent suites with its small kitchenette, located on the top floor of the hotel. A special note on their succulent breakfasts that are always included in room rates, as well as their welcoming, friendly bistro and bar, perfect for a before dinner drink.
In my opinion, one of the most interesting things about Le Saint-Pierre is that it is found in the heart of Old Québec. All you have to do is cross the street to find yourself inside one of my favourite museums, the Musée de la civilisation, which always has interesting exhibitions, with most original set-ups. For a few weeks now, the exhibition Radio-Canada. A Story to Follow has been open, which presents the history of this great medium, or ROME. From the Origins to Italy's Capital, an extraordinary exposition showing until January 29.
A Great Christmas Activity in Old Québec

Just a few steps from Le Saint-Pierre, you will find yourself at the heart of the oldest neighbourhood north of Mexico, magnificent during the holiday season. I have heard word of a most interesting event that will be held for a second edition this year and bring even more magic to the marvellous décor of Québec. QuébecAdabra!, which will be held from December 22, 2011 to January 4, 2012, features a most original programme including unique shows, such as the impressive architectural screening of Fantasmagorie. You can also take part in New Year celebrations, including the famous countdown on December 31.
