Manoir du lac William

New and seasoned couples will find that putting a few sparks back into their relationship is never a bad idea! One of my favourite romantic activities is still a little getaway to a charming inn. This is exactly what I enjoyed last week when my sweetheart and I discovered a welcoming place, the Manoir du lac William. It takes just a little over two hours to get there from Montréal, but believe me, the site is well worth discovering.
The Perfect Recipe for a Great Romantic Stay
I have heard a lot about Manoir du lac William in the past and was curious to finally visit the establishment and discover the new 18-room section. A perfect setting for our romantic weekend. To cook up our special stay, my recipe was mainly going to include gastronomy and relaxation to help keep the flame afire.

The new rooms available since last summer are spacious and provide a splendid view of the lake, also visible from the bedroom’s balcony. The contemporary décor in these new rooms matches perfectly with the manor’s country setting. Take my advice, for a few extra dollars, upgrade from a regular room and you will surely impress your better half! Something else I loved when staying at Manoir du lac William: the magnificent indoor pool, with its ceiling that looks like a starry sky. Just next to the pool, you will find the manor’s health centre where we unwound with a relaxing Swedish massage.
In the dining room, the chef features a five-course table-d’hôte dinner with a choice of a wide variety of savoury dishes, including a surprise dish made using terroir products. For dessert, I opted for a platter of fine regional cheeses, for no additional fee. A special mention for the Sunday brunch: hearty and succulent.
Outdoor Play Makes Warming Up Afterwards Even Better!
The Manoir du lac William gives lovers of rosy cheeks so many ways to enjoy winter. The ice skating rink on the lake offers a maintained one-kilometre skating trail, but you can also opt for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. There is even a short snowshoe rally. After a lovely day outdoors, the warmth and comfort of the friendly manor is even more pleasant.
A big thanks to Franco Lessard, Audrey Pomerleau and the whole team at Manoir du lac William for welcoming us! Also thanks to Isabelle Hallé at Tourisme Centre-du-Québec for helping me discover this charming place.
