Since 1997, some of the most beautiful churches in Québec City have been welcoming the Quebec Festival of Sacred Music. Invited by the festival’s artistic director Daniel Taylor (a Canadian countertenor), musicians from all around the world come to share their artistic vision of spirituality, free from religious barriers. In addition to evening concerts, there are urban activities and cultural mediation offered throughout the day during the event. The region of Québec alone is home to a fourth of the conventual chapels and churches that are classed Quebec historic monuments and no less than half of those classed national historic sites.
