Fort Témiscamingue recalls the thousand-year-long presence of the Algonquins and commemorates over two hundred years of fur-trading history at the Lake Témiscamingue straits. The Fort Témiscamingue site occupies a prime location on a piece of land formed by a narrowing of Lake Témiscamingue, where the two banks come closer than 250 metres (820 feet) to each other. In the summertime, there are theme days, and the August “Rendez-vous” event includes music and Amerindian legends. Onsite, you can also enjoy guided tours, films, period and Algonquin culture activities, exhibitions, special events and the “Enchanted Forest.” Restaurants, a campground, a bicycle trail, canoeing and a golf course are all nearby.
Open from June 18 to September 5, every day from 10 am to 5 pm
