Young and old, come tour the A.C. Davie Shipyard. A trip into the past from the early 1800s to today that will shed light on all the secrets of a period family shipyard! Discover memories at Homestead, the home built in 1832 for the Davie family. In the former stable, explore workers knowledge about repairs, rescue operations and boat construction. Outside, you will catch sight of a patent slip built in Canada; it’s the oldest of its kind still visible in North America. What’s a patent slip? What are the steps that go into building a wood boat?
