Runaway Princesses in Québec

Grande-Allée Hôtel et Suites
The start of summer, and there is a buzz in the air in Québec City. The Grande-Allée street is teeming with people, the sun will soon finish its shift for the day. On the balcony of the Grande-Allée Hotel and Suites, two girls, long-time friends, are playing at being princess for an epic cocktail and high heels weekend . Here is why.

At the heart of the action

At the Grande-Allée Hotel and Suites, you are connected to everything festive in the city and the hotel proves this with its three well organized Night Life packages. Good food, free cocktails, admission to trendy clubs, discounts on massages—the good life.

So we leave our suitcases in the magnificent heritage building; our car was kindly parked in the back where it will stay for the weekend. There is lots of space to spread out our kits and get ready for THE evening, the suite is spacious and with its two closed rooms, we both have our own comfortable little nest. The full-length mirror is practical to check our look, the decor combines old and new for a result that has a lot of character. Note to self: the fireplace, whirlpool bath, and brick wall trio is perfect for a future romantic weekend.

Taking on the city

SAVINI, resto-bar/vinothèque

First stop is only 100 feet from the hotel, the Savini, the Grande-Allée's bold restaurant. My suggestions: a glass of champagne on the terrace followed by a meal inside on the mezzanine, with a view of the aerial circus performances. We were given good advice regarding food and wine pairing, and were impressed by the diversity of the wine list and the refinement of the Italian cuisine. A nod to the risotto with mushrooms and foie gras, the tuna tataki, and the leg of lamb, all simply sublime. Ladies, the SAVINI package at the Grande-Allée Hotel and Suites includes a $75 coupon and two drinks, for lots of fun with a friend.

After a royal feast, we headed to the Maurice Night Club for a chic but relaxed evening. No waiting lines for us with the hotel’s Maurice Night Club VIP package, plus two free drinks. Like I said: princesses. The evening was going full tilt, the city was alive, and we were enjoying every moment with no worries about cars, bus schedules, or the weather outside. It took less time to go back to the hotel than to wait in line for the restrooms, just to give you an idea. We laughed, we danced, we had a great time.

All in all, a memorable evening with a friend that ended in comfort in the hotel. I couldn't wait for the hot buffet in the morning, we needed it!

A big thank you to the Grande-Allée Hotel and Suites for this memorable night life evening, and another thank you to the Savini for the warm welcome.
