August Is Archaeology Month!

Archaeology Month
If you have a passion for archaeology, you’ll get your fill during the month of August, because Archaeology Month is in full swing, with activities in several regions of Quebec. Explorers young and old are welcome to participate in over 80 activities held at 50 different historical and archaeological sites. Interesting fact: more than half of these activities are free!

The 8th edition of Archaeology Month explores the theme of place and highlights the heritage of local archaeology. Among those activities offered, a few caught my eye as they seem particularly interesting. Take, for example, the Budding archaeologists activity offered by Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History, Living in the year zero presented at Parc national d’Oka, the Guided tour of the archaeology sites in the Palace quarter in Québec, or an Introduction to archaeology organized by the Centre d’interprétation de la Côte-de-Beaupré.
