Festival l’Oktoberfest des Québécois
I have never had the chance to participate in the event Oktoberfest des Québécois, which will be held this weekend at Parc de l’Île-Lebel in Repentigny. But a few of my friends participated last year and told me all about the festive ambiance and most interesting gourmet discoveries. Indeed, more than 80 exhibitors representing Quebec microbreweries, agrifood companies and artisans are present so you can discover their products with tastings, workshops and culinary presentations. Ambiancewise, everything is put into place to provide a change of scenery for festival-goers, who may feel as if they’ve been swept off to Munich for the traditional Oktoberfest!

I also find this festival’s family programming interesting; it includes, among others, most original activities, such as introductory and tasting workshops for children during which those 8 to 12 years can try beer and cheese pairings featuring… spruce beer, ginger ale and root beer alongside cheese curds. New this year for you to discover: rides such as Chute libre, Himalaya and Family Swing, in honour of the legendary amusement park found at Munich’s Oktoberfest. Interesting fact: admission is free for children 12 years old and under accompanied by a parent.
