Calypso water park

What a fabulous summer we’re having! To make the most of our sunny days, I recommend going to the Calypso water park, located in Limoges, in Ontario, quite close to the border with Outaouais. It is considered one of the best water parks in the world and will surely delight the whole family. With my family, we went there while on vacation last summer and had a fantastic day enjoying ourselves on slides, for steep and less steep thrills!
Hang on Tight to Your Suit!
Upon arriving at Calypso, it was hard to believe that it’s Canada’s largest water park; the site is vast, without being immense. But when we saw the number of slides and water games, we understood that we were taking on a day that was going to be fun and diverse. And since the owners of the water park are the same people who own Valcartier Vacation Village , we recognized some similarities.
The bravest in my group were quite pressed to try AquaLoops, a new attraction that opened this summer. It literally projects you into a 17-metre (55-foot) fall on a rollercoaster-like ride with a 2.5-g loop. Everyone was quite impressed by the originality of the slides offered, like the Boomerango which, similar to a skateboard ramp, sends a raft of six passengers down and back up a wall, only to go down again into a pool.
Of course, snaking slides, the wave pool and speed slides were loved by all, as well as the the little Jungle Run river.

Since the Calypso water park opened in 2010, it has rapidly climbed in popularity. Obviously, interest has grown such that the number of people on site greatly influenced our program for the day. This is why I would like to share a few tips that will help you enjoy your day to a max. First off, even on cooler or cloudier days, Calypso is still a great option for family outings, since water in all the pools is heated. Also, like me, you can bring your own food and thereby avoid the wait at on-site restaurants. Finally, buy your tickets online before your departure to avoid the crowd at the ticket office.
