I am not naturally a solitary person. I like having company and discovering new places with the people I love. So it was my first for going on a solo trip to La Source Bains Nordiques, a Nordic spa located on the mountainside that promised to take care of me. But what lovely discoveries I made: with an extraordinary natural site, an unequalled moment of relaxation and with a relaxed, serene girl… myself!
When Harmony Has Us!
The word harmony best describes my day at La Source Bains Nordiques, located in Rawdon, in the Lanaudière region. The Nordic spa, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, is found at an exceptional site that brilliantly harmonizes with surrounding nature. And the site was named after the spring, source in French, found on the mountain, which is the basis for the spa’s installation. Indeed, you’ll have to climb a few stairs to start your perfect moment of relaxation, but the climb is well worth it.
Upon arriving at the welcome pavilion, I already had a lovely overview of what awaited. Hot and cold baths located on different levels of the mountain, relaxation areas with large windows so you don’t miss any of the landscape’s beauty, buildings featuring contemporary, zen design that fit in perfectly with the natural décor and the calm, relaxing sound of the spring running down the mountain. No feeling of solitude dwells within, just the sweet anticipation of finding myself alone!
Over the last few years, I have had the occasion to try many magnificent Nordic spas across the province, but the harmony felt at La Source Bains Nordiques is practically magic.

Yes, I had a great time by myself! I enjoyed trying every single bath, sauna and relaxation area. What did I like the most? The darkroom, one-of-a-kind in Quebec, where total obscurity reigns, as well as the excellent massage and fairy-like fingers of my masseuse. My only regret? Not having been able to enjoy the massages that are being offered outside for the first time this summer. But I’ve decided I’ll be back, but this time the list of people wanting to accompany me will be long, I’m sure!
A special mention for the most welcoming bistro and excellent plate of regional products including delicious cheese and savoury rillettes.
