Less than 30 minutes from Québec, Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier features landscapes remarkable for their striking contrasts: steep-sided valleys cut into mountain plains. Winding across the bottom of the most spectacular of these valleys, the 550 metre (1,804 foot) deep Jacques-Cartier, is a sometimes calm, sometimes agitated river. In the forests where yellow birch, sugar maple trees and black spruce grow, nature inspires respect and peacefulness.
