Armand Bombardier, photo credit: Claudine Chaussé Want to know more about the man who put Quebec on the map with a vehicle that’s made inroads all over the world? At the Museum of Ingenuity J. Armand Bombardier, step into the universe of one of Quebec’s most famous inventors, Joseph-Armand Bombardier. Located in the Eastern Townships, this world-class museum offers summer activities and exhibits for the whole family to enjoy. In addition to a must-see temporary exhibit on the creativity of Canadian teens, the museum offers packages that give visitors a glimpse of how Ski-Doo® snowmobiles are made, not to mention a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum! An amazing temporary exhibit Explore the teenage brain and gain insight into its inherent creativity by visiting Teens: Creative Minds. In this exhibit, you’ll learn about a dozen Canadian teenagers who, over the past 100 years, have used their innovative minds to make the world a better place. There are also a variety of activities and interactive games to explore during the exhibit. Go through an obstacle course wearing an ultrasonic sensor belt, write sentences using Blissymbols (an ideographic language), match different parts of the brain to their functions, and take a quiz to discover your creative personality type! The wide world of snowmobiles This summer marks the return of the Museum – BRP plant package! Visitors can combine a visit to the museum with a 75-minute guided tour of the BRP plant to learn more about how Ski- Doo® snowmobiles are made and the tradespeople who work at the plant. This activity is offered Monday through Thursday, from June 27 to September 1, except during the BRP shutdown, from July 18 to August 4. It’s also the perfect opportunity to test your family’s ingenuity at the museum’s three experimentation stations, where you can build and test prototypes to solve various challenges. Among the 71 vehicles on display, some have been chosen to show visitors how Joseph-Armand Bombardier and his team succeeded in developing vehicles that can glide on snow, ultimately leading to the invention of a new winter pastime!
