Do you love winter and history? The Snowshoer is an activity inspired by the 1900s that lets you experience a snowshoeing trek of yesteryear. Wearing traditional snowshoes and an arrow sash, participants will embark on an authentic old-fashioned winter adventure with charming stories told by the dynamic Snowshoer. Until February 26, this activity is offered Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. The equipment, hot cocoa and stories are included!
On February 14 for Valentine’s Day, the Snowshoer invites you to learn about the courtship rituals during the golden age of snowshoeing with passionate tales told on a torch-lit trek. This is an original recreational activity for anyone who loves winter. And from March 6 to 10, the Snowshoer will welcome families for spring break. Participants of all ages will love this trek full of fascinating stories.
Under the snow, the Plains of Abraham are transformed into an enchanting location perfect for enjoying your favourite winter sports. Come on the Plains for a skate on the refrigerated rink so that you can make the most of the season on your getaway to Québec City. If you prefer the fun of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, you’ll find 13.9 km (8.6 mi.) for skiing and 3.8 km (2.6 mi.) for snowshoeing on the Plains as well as 6.6 km (4.1 mi.) for walking. You’ll also be treated to a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River. And don’t miss a visit to the beautiful Joan of Arc Garden in the Snow to stroll around the scenes of centuries past brought to life before your very eyes. Sparkling decorations add a touch of magic to this free activity.
