Chef Daniel Charbonneau, a creative visionary and owner of L’Empreinte in Sherbrooke, runs the restaurant at Bleu Lavande in high season and develops true delicacies using terroir products. Treat yourself to a picnic basket that is far from ordinary or have the works with a seven-course meal in the new air-conditioned restaurant. Located in Stanstead near the U.S. border, Bleu Lavande is an essential stop for anyone touring the picturesque Eastern Townships. Restaurant meals, bistro snacks, demos…the choice is yours! A section of the house has been turned into a brand new restaurant with an à la carte menu. Items include the cocktail of Romeo’s gin, apple and cider, a melon-lavender soup, bruschetta with strawberry, l’Ermite blue cheese and pecan, and artisanal ham grissini. Note that some dishes do not include lavender to cater to patrons who are less fond of the taste. Visitors who are looking for a balanced meal don’t have time to dine at the restaurant can get a sandwich, salad or a quick bite at the bistro. A tempting new “sweet and salty” snack bar section serves fries, doughnuts and lavender ice cream. After the successful series of culinary demonstrations held last year, Bleu Lavande is now pushing the idea even further.
