Boréalis looks at the history of the pulp and paper industry in Quebec as told through the lives of lumberjacks, loggers and papermakers. This major tourist attraction and choice family destination in the Mauricie region is located at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice and St. Lawrence rivers. A former industrial site was transformed into this museum that includes a unique underground reservoir, an exhibit to explore how paper is made and magnificent view from a lookout!

Boréalis: a family-friendly museum

On a self-guided tour, you will explore the pulp and paper adventure in Quebec through aspects such as logging, the omnipresence of water, mill work, lumberjacks and log drivers, as well as the construction of workers' quarters. In addition, you can take part in an artisanal paper-making workshop as well as an underground rally taking place in the vaults of Boréalis. This must-see experience is suitable for children, thanks to guides who can tailor the visit to their interests, as well as informative for parents.

A new escape room

Boréalis is offering a brand new activity: an escape room that will reveal to you if you have what it takes to work at the plant... In Alerte à l’usine (Factory Alert), you are called in as an emergency replacement for a friend's night shift at the CIP plant. He's not worried about you: it's pretty quiet at night and there are almost no other employees on your shift. But the quiet won't last and you'll have to prove yourself sooner than you think!

A riverside terrace that’s always delightful!

Adjacent to the Boréalis museum, the Aux Confluents terrace is an enchanting place overlooking the St. Lawrence and St. Maurice Rivers. This always-lively terrace offers an exceptional view and a unique chic and rustic atmosphere. Have a seat and sample the summer cafe-style menu and delicious tapas. New this year: the Super Sonic gin brewed by Distillerie Du Quai and coffee roasted by the Caféier. A splendid place to spend a summer day!
