Japanese macaques, Granby Zoo
A quintessential family destination, this can’t-miss zoo in the Eastern Townships
is always innovating. This year is no exception, as a sum of 2 million dollars has been invested in the Granby Zoo
. A piece of good news that visitors, as well as the Japanese macaques, are sure to be happy about!
The Macaques Are Having a Housewarming Party
The next time you go to the Zoo, don’t forget to visit the Asia section. You’ll get to see the Japanese macaques settle into their new residence. With eight-feet-tall rocks, warm shelters and sources of heat, everything is in place to make sure these friendly primates have a home that resembles their natural habitat.
What’s more, thanks to a nature circuit set up along the trail, you’ll get to test your balance and dexterity and see how you measure up to the macaques. Which one of you can get through the circuit better? There’s only one way to find out!
