From June 30 to October 15, discover MosaïCanada / Gatineau 2017, a masterful work of art you’ll find at the Jacques-Cartier Park in Outaouais. Orchestrated by Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal, this spectacular event is but one of the many surrounding the celebrations of Canada’s 150th anniversary taking place throughout the country. Let artistic horticulture tell the story of a country and its territories.

Three-dimensional wonders

Mosaiculture is an incredible art that combines elements of sculpture, painting and horticulture. The exhibition in Gatineau will present about forty three-dimensional works of art that explore a common theme: 150 years of history, values, culture and arts in Canada. These fascinating structures are placed along a 1-kilometre-long (0.6 mi.) circuit and represent characters, key moments and First Nations’ legends, all coming to life before your very eyes. MosaïCanada is sure to be a flagship event as part of the festivities of the 150th anniversary of Confederation. A mosaiculture offered by China titled “The joyous celebration of nine lions" – created just for this event – will also be displayed.

The result of teamwork

This outdoor museum is the fruit of a remarkable partnership between Mosaïcultures internationales de Montréal, Communities in Bloom and a committee representing the provinces, territories and First Nations peoples. These associations worked together to determine the themes and the historical significance of these themes, which then inspired the creation of the horticultural masterpieces you’ll see this summer. Definitely a must-see!
