Visit the famous Plains of Abraham as a family for a day that brings together history, riddles and astonishing discoveries! You might not think of this urban Québec City park, the arena of events that have shaped Quebec's history, as a family attraction. But many activities are on offer for children of all ages. See below for a quick look at these offerings and find out more online or at the Plains of Abraham Museum to get all the details.

A treasure hunt with a historical twist

Everyone loves a treasure hunt! What if you could go looking for a treasure hidden on the Plains? The Landscape Architect and the Hidden Treasure, activity, lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, gives you a chance to explore little known pieces of the site in a thrilling hunt peppered up by riddles to be solved. The mystery map will show you the steps you must follow. This activity is offered until mid-September and is perfect for children ages five to ten. Expect to be amused and surprised!

Discover the Plains by solving riddles

Keep on solving riddles and take part in the three outdoor escape games the Plains of Abraham offer. Explore the site as a family and dive into the history of this mythical place. Three activities, The Challenge of the Great Wars, The Masters Tournament and The Forgotten Ones, each offer a unique scenario. These timed activities are designed for small groups (no more than six people), and are suitable for ages 10 and up and last one hour and forty-five minutes (the exact duration of the activity depends on each group’s speed).

An escape room in a one-of-a-kind setting

Last but not least, the Plains offer a true escape room too, and it takes place inside Martello Tower 4! Throughout The Tormentor, participants 12 and older must explore the tower’s three stories to solve the mystery of the Marcoux family, who’ve been lingering there since the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. Embarking on this quest, players learn even more about three moments that left their mark on Quebec’s history: 1759, 1812 and 1908. This activity also earned the “Cadenas d’Or” escape game prize in 2019, for best game promoting tourism or local economic activity.
