The Biosphere, an iconic museum at the heart of Parc Jean-Drapeau, has reinvented itself. Housed in a building that has been an architectural emblem of Montréal since Expo 67, the museum has a brand new program that sheds light on current environmental issues. It features an immersive show, interactive exhibitions, scientific demonstrations, outdoor circuits and plenty of other fun and stimulating activities for all. But know this: it a museum sure to inspire you to make changes in your day-to-day life!

Two key components you won’t want to miss

Thanks to a 360-degree projection, the new “Design the future” immersive show delivers an extraordinary sensory voyage. This presentation was named top cultural production in a museum at the 2016 NUMIX gala and it’s a unique experience that will amaze you and that draws on current facts as well as elements you’ll remember from your childhood. This hopeful projection is both uplifting and inspiring.

Weather is always a topic on everyone’s lips, but people don’t always understand the science behind it. The “This is not an Umbrella” exhibition describes surprising planetary phenomena related to weather science.

A captivating outdoor program for the whole family

You’re sure to be moved by the giant photos of the “Landscapes and Omens” exhibition. Depicting the country’s most beautiful natural landscapes, cityscapes and industrial neighbourhoods, these images will take your breath away. This outdoor exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the issues affecting the landscape and how the future is likely to transform it.

Are you curious by nature? A series of challenges invites you to set out on a discovery of the biosphere of île Sainte-Hélène. You’ll be surprised and amazed by the treasures you’ll find! There are also three circuits you can follow on your smartphone or go on a quest with a BioKit and a GPS. Admission to the Biosphere environment museum is free for visitors ages 17 and under.
