The story that binds together
cross-country skiing and Gatineau Park dates back to the 1910s,
when the Ottawa Ski Club would meet up there. Nowadays the Park
welcomes outdoor enthusiasts, families and even accomplished
athletes and hosts the Gatineau Loppet. That event is not only the
largest cross-country skiing competition in Canada, but also a
member of the Worldloppet Ski Federation, which accepts only one
race (the best race) per country among its members!
Located near the trails, right inside
Gatineau Park, are charming four-season
tents, yurts and shelters
just waiting for you! Go with a group, make the most of your day
on the trails and finish off with an evening by the campfire.
Basic equipment and firewood for the wood stove are provided to
campers. A great way to take a break from your daily cares!
Many tools are at your disposal: on
the website there is an interactive map that shows ski conditions
as well as a trail map that helps you choose the right trail
depending on your level, your style and how much time you have.
Information agents on site will be happy to give you advice,
especially if it’s your first time there.
