Located in the heart of the Plains of Abraham, the Musée national des
beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) presents exhibits related to architecture, art, gastronomy and nature, particularly during the summer. Presented exclusively in Quebec City,
America. Between Dreams and Realities is a must-see exhibit this summer. Featuring works by 82 artists who played a role in defining and reinventing the American dream, such as Edward Hopper, The Guerrilla Girls, Andy Warhol and Arthur Jafa, this exhibit offers visitors a broad artistic, social and historical overview of the United States from 1914 to present day.
Until September 5, 2022, visitors will have a unique opportunity to discover American art through this original exhibit organized in collaboration with the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. Exploring the complexities of the landscapes, the realities of everyday life, technological revolutions, as well as the civil rights and feminist movements, the over 100 paintings, sculptures, videos and photographs presented in this exhibit provide a glimpse into a diverse and complex America—a country that makes an impression on all of us.
To add even more excitement to your visit, you can also take part in the Musée’s different summer activities related to American culture. First, reflect on the social issues addressed in the exhibit during a guided tour. Afterwards, head out to the MNBAQ gardens to enjoy an array of outdoor activities, such as a movie night and musical happy hour.
