The Since 1976 exhibition brings you on a trip back in time to the biggest events held at the Olympic Park. Located in the Montréal Tower, this permanent exhibition presents every major happening in time at the iconic Olympic Stadium, including the winning bid to host the 1976 Games, the Olympics themselves and the story of the construction of the stadium.

Visitors can look at numerous documents, first-hand accounts and artifacts as well as never-before-seen photos and video archives. Reconstructions and interactive digital content make the exhibition an interesting immersive experience.

Memories of sporting heritage

Since 1976 lets you delve into the Olympic frenzy and trace back key moments in the 1976 Olympic Games that put Montréal on the map. Artifacts belonging to local sports celebrities are displayed as well, such as Gary Carter’s Montréal Expos jersey and a jersey that belonged to Alouettes quarterback and member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame Anthony Calvillo.

With about 4 million visitors per year, the Olympic Park is the most used post-Olympic structure in the world. Since its inauguration in 1976, the Olympic Stadium, in addition to hosting some sporting events, has been repurposed into the largest concert venue in the province; more than 1.5 million people have attended big-ticket shows by world-famous performers.

Perfectly located close to the downtown area and Old Montréal and easy to get to with public transportation, the Olympic Park is a tourist attraction combining sport, science and history. Across the street you’ll find the Space for Life Complex that contains the Biodôme, the Botanical Garden, the Insectarium and the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium.
