All kinds of activities will be taking place at one of the most prestigious urban parks in the world! The Plains of Abraham are a huge green space that can be likened to the lungs of the city of Québec, and they certainly are full of life during summer. This gem of flowers and wooded areas covers 103 hectares (254 acres) and serves as a playground for thousands of locals and visitors.

A place loaded with history

A natural Eden with a rich past, the Plains of Abraham form a headland along the north shore of the majestic St. Lawrence. Boasting breathtaking views and green spaces as far as the eye can see, the Plains are an ideal spot for year-round outdoor activities. The 1759 Battle that occurred on the Plains of Abraham was the defining confrontation between the French and British Empires in North America. Learn more about this fascinating time period by taking part in numerous activities visitors of all ages will enjoy.

Activities that are well worth the trip

From July 2 to September 3, 2018, get four activities for the price of one! Pay admission for one of the following activities and get access to the other three free of charge: the Battles | 1759-1760 exhibition, the Identities exhibition, the Attention! exhibition at the Martello Tower, and the guided tour on Abraham’s Bus. For a one-of-a-kind interactive tour, visit between August 1 and September 2, 2018 and participate in the Québec by Lantern Light tour. Learn about the struggles of Irish settlers who arrived in 1847 to try to build a new life on this promised land.

Free activities for all

See replicas of historical objects at the 10th presentation of Student Masterworks, from July 1 to September 3, 2018, and don’t miss Traces, a collection of more than 100 archaeological artefacts. From June 10 to August 5, 2018, enjoy the musical evenings outdoors at the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand. Blues, folk, pop and world music share the stage to liven up your summer! And what could be more pleasant than a stroll through the Plains of Abraham. Go on foot or take a bicycle and explore the Plains of Abraham Trail or smell the sweet scents at the Joan of Arc Garden.
