Blizzards and dropping temperatures don’t scare the residents of this animal park in Montebello! Although the bears will be hibernating for winter, most of the animals will actually be having a blast outside in their natural environment at Omega Park. Seeing a red fox leaping about in the snow or a wild boar trying to shake the snowflakes off its nose never fails to coax out ahs! and ohs! Discover all the fun reasons to visit this spot in the Outaouais region during the winter.

Animals in their winter coats roaming freely

The animals at Omega Park are native to North America and fully adapted to the park’s weather conditions. Watching them in action from your car as you drive down the 15-km (9.3 mi.) trail is a real joy. Keep your eyes peeled especially for the wolves – their coats are sparklingly stunning at this time of year!

Halfway through the car path, near the colonisation trail, Omega Park has set up a place for visitors to get out and stretch their legs. On your trip this winter, take a break in the heated tipi so you can drink something hot and get a snack. A naturalist guide is also on site to show cute little critters in various areas of the park, weather permitting. The whole family is sure to adore this visit!

Leave your mark on the snowy trails

Whether you choose to try out the snowshoeing trail located in the white-tailed deer habitat (snowshoes can be rented on site) or go for a sled ride, you’ll be leaving a trace of your magical day surrounded by nature and family fun.

Please note that activities may not take place if there is bad weather. In case of doubt, you can call Omega Park beforehand to confirm.
