Parc Oméga
Omega Park, one of the top animal-watching spots in the province, presents a picture-perfect winter. Located in Montebello, about 90 minutes from Montreal, this park is a must-see and ideal for a visit with family or friends. Against the snowy backdrop, more than 20 species parade by as they allow you a peek into their natural habitat. A breathtaking snapshot that will delight visitors of all ages!

The Boreal fauna for you to see

From the comfort of your own vehicle you’ll be able to observe diverse species from the meadows, the forests, the lakes and the tundra of the Northern Hemisphere scattered about the grounds. As you drive on the trail that stretches out over 12 km (7.4 mi.), you’ll be greeted by new wildlife in every section of the park. Watch the deer, wapiti and other animals walk straight up to your car, and keep your eyes peeled for wolves and even bears, which just might poke their noses out of their dens around thawing season. Before setting out for the drive, don’t forget to pick up a bag of carrots at the Park House – the deer are just crazy about carrots!

Discover the park on foot

Take a break halfway through and stop by the Trading Post, where you can warm up with delicious hot cocoa. Feel like stretching out your legs? Go walking or snowshoeing (snowshoes available for rent on site) on the pedestrian trail that leads to the Old Farm where you’ll come upon friendly deer that will be happy to tag along. A tractor-drawn trailer also provides transportation on weekends and during school breaks. And if your sweet tooth is acting up, a trip to the park’s sugar shack should hit the spot: maple taffy on snow and other treats will wow your eyes as well as your taste buds!

Watch the wolves up close

Do you find wolves fascinating? Then you’ll love the wolf-watching area, where a guide is on site to tell you all about these intriguing, one-of-a-kind animals. A footbridge lets you get an incredible view from above as you admire the wolves in their natural state. A great finish to your day that is sure to leave you starry-eyed!
