Whether you’re looking for a romantic activity or something to do on your own, Quebec's skating rinks are ideal for enjoying beautiful winter days. You’ll find some of them in the heart of a majestic forest, while others are located on impressive frozen lakes. Here are our suggestions for a good dose of fresh air out on the ice!

Important: travelling between regions is still not recommended. Be sure to follow sanitary guidelines during your activities.

Lace up and explore the forest trails!

In Mirabel, the Bois-de-Belle-Rivière regional park is a splendid place to play outside. Skaters will discover a 2.5-km-long ice path that winds through the forest as well as a free skating area where beginners can go at their own pace.

The Parc des Pionniers, located in the heart of the village of Saint-Donat, is the perfect place for a day outdoors. You can skate on a 1-km-long icy course in the middle of the forest, where the beauty of nature will amaze you. It’s also a park where you can practise other winter sports, such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, fatbiking (the trails are brand new) and a sliding park offering a splendid view of the lake and the mountains.

Skating on frozen bodies of water

Get your skates on and explore the 2.8-km-long frozen trail in Magog, a circuit of four winding loops next to Lake Memphrémagog. A must-see attraction in the Eastern Townships during the winter, this magnificent trail offers residents of the region a comforting atmosphere, quality skating conditions and a breathtaking setting!

Skaters in the charming region of Québec City are no doubt familiar with the famous skating rink on Beauport Lake, which invites them to enjoy this exceptional location. Located between the sailing club and Manoir Saint-Castin, this lovely 3-km-long rink welcomes skaters, as well as people without skates, who can leisurely walk on the side and enjoy the views just as much.

Enjoy a skate in beautiful surroundings

Skaters living on the Island of Montréal can practise out on the rectagular refrigerated rink at Parc Jean-Drapeau at Espace 67 all winter long. The views from the rink make this activity even more fun, just like the music played continuously, which is sure to give you an added push!

In Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, the Dam-en-Terre Resort offers you an extraordinary skating experience. In winter, the streets of the campgrounds turn into ice trails totaling 1.5 km, and this rink is known as one of the most beautiful places to skate in Quebec. Skaters of all ages will be spellbound!
