Located on the very site where Montreal was founded, Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal’s Archaeology and History Complex is a museum that has been enchanting visitors since 1992 with dynamic exhibits. It’s a place where you can tour authentic remains that bear witness to the past of the metropolis. There are also up to four temporary exhibits featured per year and designed around themes such as great civilizations, local and international archaeology, history and heritage.

Discover a legendary people: the Vikings

Their name evokes fabulous sagas, but what do we really know about the Vikings and their influence on popular culture today? Exclusively, and for the first time in Quebec, Pointe-à-Callière showcases the National Museum of Denmark's formidable Viking collection, until October 10, 2022. As part of the exhibition Vikings - Dragons of the Northern Seas, admire 650 authentic objects, examples of extraordinary know-how. The exhibition also includes everyday objects from the site of l'Anse aux Meadows, in Newfoundland, evidence of the Vikings' presence on the continent around the year 1021. You won't want to miss such a great opportunity to learn more about this ancient Northern people.

Between mythology and reality

Partnering with Ubisoft Montréal, the Pointe-à-Callière museum immerses you in the fantastic world of Vikings through a breathtaking design enhanced with clips from the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla game. You’ll also get to explore the profuse Viking cosmogony through four captivating tales: origins, life, travel and end of days. These paint a comprehensive portrait of this impressive civilisation.
