Romaine-1 Generating Station

Discover the Romaine complex, a masterpiece of 21st-century water builders, located near the charming village of Havre-Saint-Pierre. Your visit begins at the Pélagie-Cormier gateway interpretation centre with the exhibition “Our Heritage and Our Environment: A Wealth to Preserve.” You will then travel by electric bus to the Romaine-1 generating station. The program includes walking on the dam, taking in the reservoir and the stunning panorama of the valley, and being guided into the heart of the facility beneath a penstock, where you will feel the driving force of the water used to generate electricity. You will also learn about the measures taken to preserve salmon habitat. An enriching visit. Reservations required, space is limited.
