Château Ramezay – Historic Site and Museum of Montréal

Montréal
Museum

Selected by a team of experts together with UNESCO as one of the 1001 Historic Sites You Must See Before You Die, the Château Ramsay is a “must-see” in Québec. Cross its threshold to go back in time! On the ground floor, exhibits from its rich collections trace over 500 years of history, from the First Nations - pre-dating the arrival of Europeans - to the 20th century. Hear the accounts of various historic figures who frequented the Château, available in six languages. The vaults feature replica interiors where you’ll learn more about New France by listening in on the Ramezay family’s chatty servants! Don’t miss the Garden of the Governor, a unique example of an 18th century urban garden (admission free). No matter where you’re from, you’ll find the Château quite an experience!
