Citadelle de Québec - Musée Royal 22e Régiment
The Citadel of Québec is an active military base and an emblematic national historic site located in the heart of Old Québec. Overlooking the St. Lawrence River, it offers spectacular views and immerses visitors in over 300 years of French, British, and Canadian military history. Year-round, visitors can discover the Citadel on guided tours and freely explore the exhibits at the Royal 22nd Regiment Museum, including the permanent exhibition “Je me souviens,” dedicated to the history of the Royal 22nd Regiment, the only French-speaking infantry regiment in the Canadian Armed Forces. From Wednesday to Sunday, June 24 through August 31, 2026, military ceremonies featuring the Royal 22nd Regiment Band and the mascot Batisse add a unique and festive experience to the visit. Evening tours are also offered in the fall.
