Since 1992, Fromagerie L’Ancêtre has been producing organic cheeses and butter made from milk sourced from pasture-raised cows, without pesticides, GMOs, or chemical fertilizers, with respect for animal welfare and the environment. Today, it is the largest organic cheese producer in Canada, with over 100 awards, including the title of best cheddar in Quebec. Its locations in Bécancour and Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade offer a gourmet experience: fresh cheese curds made daily (also served warm, straight from the vat), a wide selection of organic cheeses, local products, custom platters, and outdoor terraces. In Bécancour, you can also enjoy a no-fry poutine and a dairy bar featuring homemade ice cream and artisanal sorbets. A must-visit destination where quality, craftsmanship, and terroir come together.
