Louis S. St. Laurent National Historic Site
Located in Compton in the Eastern Townships 20 km from Sherbrooke, the Louis S. St. Laurent National Historic Site recalls the life and work of the former Canadian prime minister. Discover his native environment and rural life at the turn of the 20th century. Visit the general store of Louis-S. St-Laurent's father, Jean-Baptiste-Moïse, and experience the rural atmosphere of the era. On the original counters and shelves, reproductions of articles evoke the daily life of villagers at the turn of the century. Conversations around the stove, whalebone corsets, chamber pots and washboards are just a few of the elements contributing to create a most authentic atmosphere.
