Château Dufresne, musée et lieu historique patrimonial
Château Dufresne, a heritage site and museum in Montréal, is a sumptuous residence inspired by the fine arts that brothers Oscar and Marius Dufresne - two prominent members of the city’s francophone bourgeoisie - had built between 1915 and 1918. Visitors can immerse themselves in the era of prosperity common to the bourgeoisie in the first half of the last century and discover the interior design of the living rooms, halls, Oriental smoking room, offices and winter gardens. This building, the first residence constructed out of reinforced concrete, is a model of ingenuity and avant-garde style. In addition to the permanent exhibition, Château Dufresne presents temporary exhibits about heritage, arts and architecture.
