Historical site of Pointe-à-la-Renommée (Fame Point)

Pointe-à-la-Renommée Historic Site, located in Gaspésie, was a strategic communications center during both World Wars thanks to the first North American marine radio station (1904), installed there by Marconi and now designated a National Historic Event by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada. Visit a century-old lighthouse and exhibits showcasing Mr. Marconi, the lives of telegraph operators, and lighthouse keepers. Following the Pioneers' Trail, hiking trails lead into the mountains, to the sea, and to the fishing harbour of L'Anse-à-Valleau.
