Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site

At Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal, visitors can stroll along the boardwalk, admire the passing boats, discover the remains of the first canal, and stop at a restaurant terrace or picnic in the greenspaces. With its exceptional historic site, the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal has become a very popular destination. It is the busiest of the canals managed by Parks Canada. Established in 1843 for commercial activities, the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal was used to transport timber and various types of merchandise before becoming a recreational boating canal in the 1970s.
